It's almost time to get spooky and deck your home out with creepy decorations and in your body weight in chocolate and candy.
Halloween is less than a week away and if you are like me and hate hitting the town then this post if for you.
For the perfect Halloween at home get yourself down to your local pound land or pound world and the local supermarket for some supplies to make your night at home as fun as possible. supplies
Poundland is one of the best places to pick up cheap and basic supplies. Here are some of the Halloween items you can find in store and should get to add a spooky feel to your home for the holiday.
After picking up your decorations head to the super market with a list of things you need and want for your night in. My list includes a pumpkin, pumpkin and ginger soup, treats for trick or treaters, bananas, apples, lollipop sticks, peanut butter, mini marshmallows, hot chocolate, pumpkin spice baileys, red velvet cake mix,, cream cheese, icing sugar, glacier mints, red food colouring and white, dark and milk chocolate.
On the morning of Halloween put your decorations around your house, decide what you want to make yourself to eat, what you want to bake or make and create a movie list.
As I am not a fan of horror and can barely watch scream, my movie playlist is child friendly and consists of the classics. I will be watching Halloween town, hocus pocas, the nightmare before Christmas and the corpse bride.
First up on the activities list i am going to carve my pumpkin and they use the inside to make my very own pumpkin and ginger soup. Last year I carved a pumpkin, the year before I carved Jack the pumpkin King and I have no idea what I am going to do this year.
Then I am going to grab my chocolate selection and melt them to make chocolate covered apples and ghost bananas. I will also use the apples to make mouths using the peanut butter and mini marshmallows.
I'm then going to make my favourite halloween treat of all, broken glass red velvet cupcakes. I will bake the cake mix and put them into cupcake holders then place in the oven.
To make the broken glass I use the glacier mints, the first step is to melt them and then to pour onto a baking sheet to make a large piece of glass, place in the fridge and leave to harden.
Once the cupcakes are baked i will top them with cream cheese frosting and then i will smash the large sheet of 'glass' into pieces to decorate the cakes and will add food colouring to create a blood effect.
For my halloween night in I have gained inspiration and recipes from the tesco magazine and youtubers Zoella and Lucy Flight who both done a DIY halloween video.
