Getting used to life on the island

So I have been in Marathon, FL for just over a month now and I have found it so easy to settle in and have adjusted to my crazy work schedule well!

As a manager in training I work in all different departments within the resort and my schedule is forever changing with the business demands. I spend my week working in house keeping, the front desk and the bar.

So far working the bar has been my favorite, I get to work there alone 2 days a week and interact with the guests on a personal level and enhance their experience at the resort.

I was tasked to come up with a new speciality drinks menu and so far I have managed to come up with 3 great drinks, its been a difficult task since the resort was unable to gain a full liquor license and has to use wine based liquor, who knew this even existed?!

Wine based liquor is the greatest loop hole I've ever seen, it is lower in alcohol but allows us to provide the guests with more drink options than just beer and wine.

So far I have come up with a key lime pie daiquiri which has been a hit with both the guests and the staff, the second drink is a strawberry passionfruit frozen drink which tastes just like guava and finally the last drink I came up with is an Irish martini because you cant have an Irish bar tender with out an Irish drink on the menu.

Even though I am loving my new work life and couldn't have dreamed of something better, i am still struggling with a work life balance. My eating habits have become absolutely terrible, I am not drinking enough water and I stopped exercising.

I finally joined the local gym a couple of days ago and will be going for my first session tomorrow, I will be following @busybee.carys and @connorswift1guide to get myself back on track and I am excited to see what their newest project is going to be!

I am determined to complete as many goals as possible over the next year in the States, I want to get my drivers license, go snorkeling, see a manatee, visit Miami, go to Fantasy Fest in Key West and so much more. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me in life and hopefully it will be a good one.
