Exploring Florida

Ive now been in Florida for over 2 months and have slowly started to explore the Sunshine state with day trips to Key West, Miami, Florida City and have been exploring more of Marathon and what it has to offer.

Marathon is one of the Florida Keys, it is a quiet town with quite a lot to offer! So far I have been to the Crane Point museum and nature reserve.

I went to the reserve as it is quite close to where I live and it is dog friendly, like most places in the keys, I even took her to Kmart!

The reserve has a lot of history, it slightly reminded me of the Ulster American Folk park back home and I highly recommend for a relaxing day out.

For my next adventure I decided I wanted to take the bus to Miami for a day, I was waiting to do this as I figured the bus would cost around $30 or more, to my surprise the trip cost $4.90!

It took around 3 hours on the bus to get to Miami but it was highly worth it. I went to the Dadeland Mall, Target and the Dolphin mall which is now one of my all time favorite malls.

I spent a small fortune but it was one of the best days I have had here and keep your eyes peeled for a haul of everything I purchased.

Key West is probably my favorite place to go for a chilled day off work and to pick up that pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. There is no much history in this quirky little town and I am discovering something new every time I go down.

I'll be back in Key West for fantasy fest, it sounds like such an interesting event and I can not wait to get dressed up for it.

But for now I am spending the start of the month chilling in Marathon at Sombrero beach and enjoying the local food, for such a little town the food is amazing here.
