It is the 4th of July and the countdown has begun, I leave for my new adventure in 9 days and I have never been more excited and nervous in all my life.

On 3rd of July I left my home at 6.30am to head to the American Embassy for my visa interview, a nerve wrecking experience but totally worth it.

Once you arrive at the embassy you wait to be called forward to sign in, you go through the door, turn off your phone and hand it over then you proceed to sign the book to confirm your attendance and to leave a description of your phone.

You are then given a visitor pass, you take off any medal and place your bag in a security box to be scanned and it is very much like airport security.

Once you have collected your things you walk up to the interview building where you wait to be called forward, I was waiting for an hour before I finally got the call, I went to the desk and over my documents and then sat down to wait to be called again, this wait was around another hour, once I was called I went back to the desk to have my finger prints scanned.

Once the finger prints have been scanned you wait again to be called into the interview room, I wasn’t waiting long this time and as soon as I walked through the door I was told my visa had been approved!

I left that building with the biggest smile on my face as my American dream is coming true, I collected my phone and headed for my mums car.

We then went into the city centre as she needed to go to the apple store so Inexplored Victoria Square.

So the next step of my adventure is to get my flights booked and pack my bags.

I am flying out on Friday 13th so let’s hope I’m not cursed!
